Growing numbers of children are developing irreversible back deformities because of the weight of the bags they carry to school. Half of all children suffer back pain by the age of 14 and doctors are reporting a rise in cases of spinal abnormalities in pupils, including disfiguring curvatures known as scoliosis.

In the study it has been suggested that school bag weight should to proportional to 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of their own body weight.

1. The number of test books, work books and copies.

In the recent years, primary level students now have textbooks or workbooks which are related to curricular areas such as music, science and health education. A greater percentage of textbooks now contain full color photographs, drawings and diagrams to make it attractive and results in increase in weight of textbooks. Stop and Revise, Why School Education has became so Expensive?

Recently I attend one family function at my best friend’s house.  Many of my old friends met there, some of them were my school mates. We all were engaged in gossips about our school days. I remember I have completed my 12 years that is from 1^st standard to 12^th standard less than Rs.50,000. But nowadays school education is became so expensive than higher professional education. Our maid she told me that for her both daughters she paid Rs.40,000 in LKG.

Now time has come to stop and revise, why school education has become so expensive? There are some factors which are main reasons behind this current situation.

India's inflation rate survey told that over past few years inflation rate 9% to 10% .Assume that in 1994  education cost was Rs.3000/year then nowadays same quality education cost is Rs.23000/year. Yesterday I read one sms "Inflation and financial crisis has become so critical and serious that majority of the men have started loving their own wife." Government should be capable to come out with solution on this inflation rate.

Other than inflation there are expenses cost like teacher's salary. Suppose that in good school student's per year fee is Rs.25000/year. Now teacher and student ratio is 1:25 means for 25 students there is one teacher. Then per year fees collected will be Rs.375000 .Including teacher salaries let's talk about rent for classroom which is half of one apartment.   In case if you ignore this rent still there are utilities cost for example electricity bills, water, internet, play-ground, lab, library, etc. Admin Overhead from principal to clerk then capital expenses like computers, library books, chemicals, etc. Salary for non-teaching staff like sweeper, peon, etc. Now if you minus all these expenses then what does it leave to pay a teacher? If fess will be reduced by Rs. 10000 then it won't be possible to run the school.

Now the the big reason is building cost that is real estate cost. We know land cost rate is increasing more than inflation rate.
